How is this different from salting?
Salting and sanding covers driving surfaces — lots, aisles, and drives. Ice management targets pedestrian surfaces: walkways, steps, ramps, and entries, where most slip-and-fall injuries actually occur.
Do you treat when there has been no snow at all?
Yes. Freezing rain, black ice, and refreeze from daytime melt all happen without snowfall, and those are some of the most dangerous conditions of the winter.
Will ice melt damage my steps or concrete?
Some products are hard on newer concrete and on certain stone. We can select gentler materials for sensitive surfaces — tell us during the pre-season walk what is new or delicate.
